Ibrahim Umar was:
1. RECTOR,
ADAMAWA STATE POLUTECHNIC YOLA 2018-2022
During professor Umar’s tenure he
was able to achieve the following through IGR or Tetfund:-
a.
Established
schools management science and agriculture.
b.
Established
Directorate of degree program-degree programs in English, mass communication,
management, economics and sociology are run in conjunction with university of
Maiduguri.
c.
Construction
and furnishing of one story building for classrooms/offices for school of
management science.
d.
Construction
and furnishing of academic board room, deanery and offices for school of
management science.
e.
Construction
and furnishing of academic board room, deanery and offices for school of
Agriculture.
f.
Construction,
furnishing and equipping of classrooms and laboratories of school of
Agriculture.
g.
Procurement
and installation of laboratory equipment for school of agriculture, engineering
and environmental sciences.
h.
Construction,
furnishing and equipping of 500 sitting capacity- examination fall with 500
desktop computers, stand by generator and solar panels.
i.
Completion
of abandoned school business administration complex in Numan.
j.
Construction,
furnishing and equipping of science laboratory complex.

Completion
of abandoned female hostel at the main campus.

over 100 staff for masters and PhDs and over 400 staff both academic and
non-academic attended conferences both within and outside Nigeria

Recruited 264 staff within the period of 4
years.

Improve
the revenue base of the polytechnic from 24 million naira to 250 million naira
through Adapoly water, Adapoly consult, entrepreneurship Centre and school
fees.
2. DEAN,
SCHOOL OF AGRIC. AND AGRIC. TECHNOLOGY MAUTECH, YOLA. 2014-2018.
Prof Umar’s achievement as dean
of the school of agriculture include:-
a.
The
student’s enrollment increased from 400 to 1200 in4 years.
b.
Postgraduate
programs in fisheries and food science and technology were approved by senate
of the university.
c.
All
programs of the school were accredited by NUC in 2016, the only school to
achieve this feat.
d.
Twenty
million naira grant (₦20m) awarded by West Africa productivity program to the
school for extension services and improves teaching of Agric science in
secondary schools.
e.
Established school of agriculture library development
fund (thirty million naira,₦30M).
f.
Rehabilitate
the poultry farm and purchase 2000 birds for teaching and research.
g.
Furnishing
of classrooms, lecture rooms and equipping laboratories by the management.
3. PIONEER
HEAD OF DEPARTMENT OF CROP PROTECTION MAUTECH, YOLA. 2011-2015.
a.
The
department started with three (3) staff but within 4 years our population
increased to eleven (11).
b.
Students
enrollment increased from two(2) in 2011 to 120 in 2018.
c.
The
departments program was accredited by NUC in 2016.
d.
Established
a staff welfare fund through monthly contribution by staff.
4. POSTGRADUATE
COORDINATOR
Postgraduate coordinator department of crop production and Horticulture (2010
-1011).
